For the Friends of Christ Church – Sharing our Home

Some people participate in the life of our faith community without ever becoming official members of Christ Church. These friends, while loved and welcomed, cannot serve as elected parish leaders or vote at annual meetings in accordance with the canons of the Episcopal Church. If you have questions about adding your name to our list of friends, please contact the Rev. Catherine Lemons 507-433-3782.

Most people participate fully in the life of the our faith family as members of Christ Church. Following is information about membership and how to make that commitment.

All baptized Christians, meaning those who have been baptized with water “in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit,” belong to Christ’s own church throughout the world. This is our eternal adoption into the household of God. Therefore membership at Christ Church involves having information about your baptism recorded in our church records.

Please contact the Rev. Catherine Lemons at 507-433-3782 to explore any of the following options:

  • If you desire to have your child baptized, Rev. Catherine is available to discuss with you the requirements and dates when baptism will be offered.
  • If you are a member of a church in another Christian tradition (Lutheran, Roman Catholic, etc.) and desire to become a member of Christ Church, Rev. Catherine can explain how to obtain the date and place of your baptism for our records. You may also be asked to take a class explaining the beliefs, traditions and practices of the Episcopal Church.
  • If you desire to transfer your membership to Christ Church from another congregation of the Episcopal Church, Rev. Catherine can assist you with a “Letter of Transfer.”
